Krautrocksampler 50 Friday - No. 8 - Ash Ra Tempel and Timothy Leary - Seven Up

I'm not sure what Timothy Leary does on this record but I am pretty sure it's what K. McKraut does in PA. And also I can tell you where PA was getting at least a little bit of their sound.

Krautrocksampler 50 Friday - No. 7 - Ash Ra Tempel - Schwingungen

Weirdo singing all over this record. Reminds me of Dieter from Sprockets, of course. There are parts of "Suche And Liebe" that Janet Jackson could have sampled instead of America. And I mean that as a compliment all around. Think of the possibilities.

A Saucerful Of Secrets

The scream from "Careful With that Axe" while starting west on the railroad tracks. The buildup in "Set the Controls" as the sun emerges and cars drive slowly through the school zone. The end of "Saucerful of Secrets" as I got off the bus and walked to the office.

Krautrocksampler 50 Friday - No. 5 - Amon Düül - Wolf City

I was asked by my wife, who was listening to this album with me, what makes "Wolf City" wack compared to a much better record Like "Yeti." It's the overly compressed production. It's the just plain bad guitar sounds. It's the dude's voice. That's why this is record is wack. Some good horn noodling, though.
