Conversations With David Foster Wallace - edited by Stephen J. Burn
Most of this book is newspaper articles that were written around the time that "Infinite Jest" was published or shortly after. Did you know that "Infinite Jest" is 1,079 pages long? If you did not know that before reading this book, you do now. Almost every article mentions the length of "Infinite Jest." Reading this, I was reminded again to read some of the writers that David Foster Wallace liked but, otherwise, this book was not terribly insightful. I guess David Foster Wallace did not like Hunter Thompson. Imagine that? All of the interviews seemed very locked in to the time when they happened, which is in the nineties. It all seems very ten years ago to me and I've moved passed it.
