This was the last show that the Pink Floyd played before the release of "The Dark Side of the Moon" and their quote/unquote "whole world changed." The images of the building are from today and back in the fifties. It does not look like there is a ton of seats in that place. Also, this show was on a Thursday and the Pink Floyd did not play the next day. I guess if you are the Pink Floyd you don't have to worry about people heading out on a Tuesday to see you. If you are the Pink Floyd, Fridays don't matter. I listened to this boot while playing dominoes with the kids. Phoebe won.

The image quality of the review of the show and Ticketron listing is not that great. My apologies. I think there was one microfilm printer at the library that worked and it did not work well.

Comments from another blog:
"The show is quite good. It's one of the first concerts of 1973, it includes Childhood's End and it's a major upgrade compared to the other releases. The sound is VG/VG+ and there is a major speed problem on One Of These Days (runs way too fast). This is worth having just for the nice version of Childhood's End! Highly recommended to all."

Today was Mr. Gilmour's 67th birthday. It homage to the man, in addition to listening to a really boomy (Kiel Auditorium - capacity = 9,300/opened = 1934/demolished = 1992) boot of this show, I listened to Mr. Gilmour's three largely forgettable solo LPs. I think I read somewhere that he felt that his first solo LP "had to be made" considering the music that the Pink Floyd was making at the time. No, It didn't. Pete Townshend wrote a couple of the songs on "About Face" (1984) and I could totally tell which songs they were on the record without even looking at the credits. I like his last solo album, "On an Island" (2006), the best of the three although it is probably the blandest.

Not a ton about this show on the world wide web and no known recording. For content, these are ads from an industry trade publication from the week of this show. The first image was a smaller image on the front cover and the second image was the entire back cover of the publication. The images bled from the front cover to the back cover.

Taking Punk to the Masses - Jacob McMurray
The best part of this book is the cover photo of Mark Arm and Steve Turner of Mudhoney at a Replacements show in 1983. Otherwise, this is an important book that was put together very well but contained way too much grunge for my taste and way too much Nirvana. But what am I saying? I had too much Nirvana when I saw them at the Empire (RIP) in 1991. I never got past the fact that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" sounded like "More than a Feeling" to me. Screaming Trees still rule though.
